Supported Employment program

Chris Przybylowski has been with Goodwill of Southern New England since 2008. Chris came to Goodwill as a volunteer to assist our receptionist with clerical work and answering the phones. He also volunteered in our Orange store one day a week. His duties included pricing wares and clothing, pairing shoes together, sorting donations, and other tasks as needed.

Chris enjoyed volunteering with us so much that when he graduated from West Haven High School in 2010 he became part of our Group Supported Employment program. While in this program he has worked with our E-books crew entering the ISBN numbers of the books into the system, scanning them, and sorting them in preparation to be put out on the sales floor. When not working with E-books Chris had filled in at multiple stores as a tagger and has also stocked magazines for Hudson Distributers. Chris currently is a member of the Westville Goodwill team where he prepares the donated clothing for the sale floor.

Chris is not only a part of our Group Supported Employment program, but he is also in charge of recording the minutes at our quarterly Self Advocacy Group meetings, he is a member of our color guard, and can be heard at our Annual meetings leading the Pledge of Allegiance. When not at work Chris enjoys karate and is working towards achieving another belt. Chris is also a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Chris is definitely a busy guy and has a passion for everything he does.

The Group Supported Employment program that Chis is part of would not be possible without the support from our community. Every time you donate or shop you are making a difference in an individual’s life.
