Springing into Celebration!

Spring is traditionally a season of growth and new beginnings, but here at Goodwill of Southern New England, it is also a season of celebration! This spring, we are thrilled to mark the opening anniversaries of two of our incredible Rhode Island locations: our Warwick store and our Smithfield store and donation center.

Whether you are a daily treasure hunter, a weekend donor, or someone whose life has been touched by our employment programs, these milestones are as much yours as they are ours. Here is a look at what we are celebrating this season.

On March 24th, we celebrate the anniversary of our Warwick location opening its doors. From day one, the Warwick community has embraced our mission with open arms.

Within a year, this location has grown into a bustling hub for sustainable shoppers and a vital drop-off point for generous donors. Whether it is finding the perfect vintage blazer for an upcoming interview or discovering a unique piece of home décor, the Warwick store proves every day that great style and sustainability go hand-in-hand.

Just a few weeks later, on April 20th, we keep the party going by celebrating the opening anniversary of our Smithfield store and donation center.

The energy in Smithfield has been electric since our ribbon-cutting. Our Smithfield regulars know that our donation drive-up is always ready to give their gently used items a second life, keeping thousands of pounds of usable goods out of local landfills while providing an unbeatable thrift experience on the sales floor.

While it is incredibly fun to celebrate the amazing thrift hauls and the colorful racks of clothing, these store anniversaries represent something much bigger.

Every time you shop or donate at our Warwick and Smithfield locations, you are directly funding Goodwill of Southern New England’s core mission: Strengthening communities by supporting individuals of all abilities through person-centered employment, training, and services.

The success of these two stores translates directly into real-world impact across Rhode Island and Southern New England. Your support at the register and the donation door helps fund:

• Employment Services: Helping individuals with disabilities secure and maintain meaningful work.

• The Reentry Initiative: Providing justice-involved individuals with the tools and coaching needed to transition back into the workforce.

• Engagement Services: Fostering community connection, life skills, and independence for those facing barriers.

We could not have reached these milestones without the incredible dedication of our retail staff, the hard work of our mission services teams, and the unwavering support of our local communities.
