Youth as Leaders (YAL), for middle school aged youth enrolled at Hill Central School in New Haven, provides after-school services which promote leadership development, creative exploration, community service and relevant life skills. YAL assists individuals in strengthening the educational, social and emotional competencies needed to smoothly transition from adolescences into adulthood. Family strengthening is a key component of YAL’s services and, like FLC, incorporates families night out events to engage family members in activities to promote positive interaction with program participants.
